With seven days to go, I'd like you all to check out and consider backing a co-op sci-fi game, Sine Tempore from Ludus Magnus Studio. The main plot of the game is that you are group of settlers looking for a new world to colonize and find yourselves pitted against aliens that use the world for sport and game.
The campaign reached its funding within 34 minutes and has almost fifty stretch goals unlocked. For $99.00 you get the core game and for $139.00 pledge you will receive the core game, the Silicio expansion. Both pledges come with all of the unlocked stretch goals and a Kickstarter exclusive character, Beli'ar.
The game is designed for 1-4 players, with rules for up to six players in Nightmare Mode. In addition, if more stretch goals get unlocked, the enemy characters will become playable with an enemy plot book that is one of the stretch goals still to be unlocked.
Enemy models are controlled by an in-game AI and players do not take turns in the traditional static manner. Instead, player and enemy activations are determined by a dial called the momentum. The enemies will predetermine objectives based on the mission being played but how each enemy behaves can be changed based the players actions or even based on which heroes are chosen,
The games offers missions that can be played off as one-off games or they can be played in the narrative campaign. One of the cool things that the games offers is the heroes can select number of skills, upgrade equipment or cause different effects to take effect based on the symbols that come up on dice rolls. There are also a number of event, resource and terrain cards that can effect the outcome the game.
Check out some of the reviews
Having been involved in gaming for over 30 years, the game looks solid from the setting, the miniatures, the rules, the gameplay, the materials look to be super high quality and most importantly the designers have made the effort to make the game replayable without it becoming stagnant.
Some of the cool stretchgoals include a social campaign on both Boardgame Geek and Facebook. Heroes inspired by the characters from the movie Spaceballs get unlocked the more fans the game gets on Boardgame Geek. With more likes on Facebook, cool stuff like an art book and lithograph get unlocked. So please hit up both sites and give Sine Tempore a like.
Some of the awesome stretch goals unlocked as funding increased was Captain Arcade, a hero based on the anime and manga character Space Pirate Captain Harlock, and enemies that include crossovers from the Vampire Hunters, Galaxy Defenders and Nova Aetas games as one inspired by Darth Vader.
There are also additional add-ons that can be purchased. Some of these include sets of resin miniatures, single enemy bosses or enemy boss nemesis boxes that include a boss and support miniatures.
With only a week left, if you're looking for a cool new game that will offer you a great deal of high quality pieces, replayability and a solid gaming experience, go over to Kickstarter and check it out. It's a great value for the money and this point I can't see why any tabletop gamer wouldn't want to get in on it.
